About Me: This journal is mainly fandom-oriented, but I will post about my personal life and other wacky highjinks when the mood strikes. For the curious, I'm an ex-pat Canadian living the high life in Atlanta GA, home to things like Murder Kroger, Stone Mountain, the Braves, and this guy.

About My Fic: My numerous pieces of fanfiction. can be found over at fic_by_nos, which you're welcome to friend if you're just here for the words. I'm also working on getting everything archived at the Archive of Our Own. Some of the fandoms I've written in include: Supernatural, Torchwood, due South, Canadian 6 Degrees, Firefly, the Batman comics, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I have also been known to record podfic, write the occasional piece of meta, and even make a fic rec or two. (You can use the tags on this journal to locate recs and meta).

My life has recently been made richer thanks to WTF Is This: Supernatural Edition. While I don't believe it's right to point and laugh at someone's fannish contributions, sometime those contributions are so bizarre, so offensive, and so downright awful that they occupy a special hell. Hence this tumblr blog. Page backwards to see the horror (prolapsed rectum Sam?) and for the lols.

The 5000 Question Survey (5000questionsur) is kind of neat, and I think I'm going to do some of it, mainly because things are slow at work, my writing mojo is borked, and maybe this way some of you out there in radioland will answer these questions, too, and we'll all learn more about each other.

So, I saw the movie that every single person in the world has probably seen already, and I have Thoughts. They are not particularly interesting, articulate or intelligent Thoughts, but Thoughts they are, ( and so I share )

Guys! I am so in love with Supernatural right now! And I'm slowly easing into the fandom, which is much bigger and scarier than any other fandom I've been involved in. Also, the series is ongoing, so that'll be weird. I'm so used to closed-canon fic and meta and such.

Okay, so you know how Sam and Dean beat each other up? ash48 wrote a nice meta/picspam piece about the Boys when they fight, and what each battle has said about their relationship. Go read. 'Tis nice and thinky and pretty, because wow, Sam and Dean are gorgeous when they bleed.

That...came out wrong. Moving on!

Animals are sure are cute, aren't they? Like, for example, my furkid Fozzy. He is the most adorable Pomeranian ever, based on a study of me, conducted in the last 2 minutes. Don't believe me? ( Why would I lie? )

Hey all you hip and happenin' Supernatural fangirls! I've got a rec for you. Please check out thegeminisage's wonderful Dean/Castiel/Sam story Share Each Other Like an Island. It's a wonderful fix-it fic that addresses not only the fate of the Samulet, but also (finally!) gives Dean a chance to tell Sam that he never sent that nasty voicemail in season 5's finale "Lucifer Rising." It also offers some nice perspective on Castiel's evolving humanity, Dean's eternal angst, and I loved the alternative solution that the offer presented to cure Sam's soulnessness in season 6. After reading this story, you'll wish that Show had come up with such elegant and in-character resolutions to some of these major plot points.

Also, there is hot threesome action. Yes yes. (What? I read for the plot).

Lookee, I made with the fic today! It's Supernatural gen and it mentions Journey and it's not terribly angsty, but it's the first thing I've posted in...Chreesus, almost a year? Yikes.

Okay, I realize I've been away from the due South fandom for a while, but what the hell is going on? We got wankified? Yeesh.

I don't know staranise, and judging from her LJ post, I wouldn't want to know her. But her take on cesperanza's Canadian Shack 10th Anniversary Challenge is pretty damn off-base, and it's gotten me all angered up.

Yay! The helpsomalia auction has closed, and between the podfic and story bids I helped raise $185 for UNICEF and Doctors Without Borders. The winning bidders were thursdaynext_27, who will be requesting a fanfic, and cathliu, who asked me to record a Star Trek Reboot AU called Couture (Chris Pine/Zachary Quinto).

A big, big thank you goes out to these generous fangirls, and to all the folks who made a bid. It's really inspiring to see people willing to help out others by donating to such a worthy cause. Amazing!
